REQUEST: Favorite Beauty Products of 2010

What were your favorite beauty products of 2010? It's too late to make a video now, but I decided to sum it all up here on this blog post. Hopefully this will help everyone w/ finding their HG beauty products!

Face:

Foundation: Almay Naturals Foundation in Buff: This is a weird one for me, because I had an extreme hate-love relationship with this guy. At first, when I first bought it, I thought it was a horrible consistency and terrible messy packaging. But, after cleaning up the first explosion from the plastic tube, I learned to be more careful with it and learned to love the thin, almost water like consistency. This foundation is so light that it feels like water, not a creamy foundation at all. After it's almost absorbed into your skin, it gives a VERY dewy finish- or an oily finish. But, I learned that I'd take the light coverage and trade in a matte finish and I simply take my oversized kabuki and a translucent powder and go over my whole face. Simple.

Concealer: Covergirl Invisible Concealer in Light: This was a hard one, I had to choose between this and my NARS concealer in custard. The CG concealer is very liquidy again, but provides a more excellent coverage then expected. I have problems really only under my eyes and this is a sort of peach/pinky concealer and works wonders under my eyes. I do have to set the concealer w/ a powder because it has a weird looking finish on places that aren't blue, but are around my eye area.

Powder: ELF Translucent Powder: I discovered this this year, and have fallen in love. It's awesome! Perfect coverage (little) and great mattifying power and you really can't beat the price.

Cheeks:
Blush: Benefit Coralista: The perfect color for my skin tone- enough said. It smells heavenly.
Bronzer; None :/

Eyes:
Eyeliner: Rimmel Kajal Eyeliner: Perfect for smudging anywhere in the eye area and is the perfect- not too harsh- color.
Eyeshadow: Walking on Eggshells by Wet n' Wild - Love this Trio! It's so not pricey at all, but the quality is soooo superb!
Stila- Kitten Eyeshadow
Mascara: L'oreal Voluminous- made my lashes stand out like a crazy person!!

Lips:
Lipstick: None D: I've yet to find my perfect lipstick.
Lipgloss: Aerie -Cosmo Lipgloss
American Beauty Lipgloss- Sunset Pink
Wet n' Wild Superslicks Clear Gloss

My Holiday Gift Guide

I can't believe this is my ONE HUNDRETH+ post on this blog. It's a little bizarre, time has passed by so quickly- youtube and blogging really let me reflect on my past mindsets. Anyways, this is going to be a more informative post than usual (we all love these.. I hope), a holiday gift guide for HER. I was actually in the middle of filming a video for this, but my camera died. On that note, I happened to have LOST my HD camcorer which I got for my birthday this year. I've been searching around my house like a mad lady for it! Anyways, I actually got partner a few weeks back but have been experiencing major problems with Adsense and youtube linking everything (a glitch?! a lot of other recent partners have had the same problems..), but finally after a third email to the youtube (or was it the adsense?) support team, everything suddenly started working and I revamped my whole channel- changing the color scheme, and readding revenue sharing into all my videos. Just another update, I plan on doing a lot of reviews on this blog, whether they are new products, obsessions or sponsored products. So, if you read my blog- look forward to that? Onto the post! (that was an extremely long intro!)

If you are a boyfriend, or a friend, and need new original ideas to get a girlfriend, or any really good friend who's a girl- keep on reading!

1. gift baskets/bags (stocking stuffers for those who celebrate Christams): buy a ton of small things and package them nicely. thats the key to the whole gift, the thought and the packaging. I've created these before and they priced just under $15. Buy those cheap-o but adorable jewelry pieces from H&M, forever 21 etc. Then, add in a bunch of chocolate (holiday themed hershey's kisses anyone?), and some makeup that's on sale (sephora alwalys has good gift cards and coupons around this time of year, and you can alwalys find fun makeup on sale this time of year). Add in anything that's sentimental (pictures? inside joke items?) that'll fit inside a generally small basket, vase or bag. After accumulating these items, place them strategically inside your choice of container (use beads or chocolates to fill up about 1/2 of a box or vase, and tissue paper etc. for a basket), after use crafty items (like faux flowers, beads, ribbons) to decorate your new present. Wrap it all up in clear wrapping paper and a bunch of red and green ribbons (dont forget to curl the ends) and it looks more expensive then it really was! I honestly suggest this for a girl-girl present, but I think the best part of a present like this is the little surprises. Remember to add a heartfelt card and you're good to go.
2. Bath and Body Works : That's all I have to say. Candles, Lotions. Body washes, Perfumes, every girl's dream. For some reason, Bath and Body works, The Body Shop and Victoria's Secret have hit the nail on the head exactly and come out with fool proof amazing scents. If you're a guy, pick out what you'd like to smell... you'll probably end up smelling it for a while anyways.
3. Jewelry- When picking jewelry for girls (that is if you're a guy) the fool proof way to go is simple and understated. No name jewelry, no crazy hearts and shapes, just a simple understated look. Ask the sales assistant for help on this one. If you're a girl, get your friends something that first their personality.
4. BirchBox or a Mag. Subscription or a JewelMint Subscription
5. Your love

A store, a professional artist and more

http://daisycheekz.weebly.com/
I now have a weebly- aka a free website. Unlike my blogger, it's going to be used to present my store, makeup rates etc. to my various clients. There is a small blog section, and my portfolio is also presented. What I'm most excited about though, is the store. I know I'm going to start something soon- but I'm just not sure yet, stay tuned for updates on that though (: i'll try to make it as creative as possible, and the prices will be as reasonable as humanly possible as well. Well, I hope you check out my new website, happy holidays!

Sparkly Grey-Black Gradient Nails + New Fave Song

I would just like to say, I'm obsessed with this song. You should definte
ly listen to it, Misty Miller's 16, gorgeous and writes amazing songs! They have taylor swift type lyrics, but her singing style is more indie- "hipster".

I was somewhat inspired by this song to paint my nails (?), and I decided to try out a gradient nail. The written tutorial is below, and pictures! I used..

Sephora by OPI Under My Trenchcoat (a gold sparkled grey)
ELF Black Nail Polish (creme black)
Cosmetic Wedge
Milani 3D Holographic in 509 (silver glitter)
Sally Hansen Double Duty Base/Top Coat

Step 1: Use Base Coat to paint nails completely.
Step 2: Take a grey colored polish (under my trench coat) and paint two coats onto nails. Let dry completely
Step 3: Take a black polish and paint the cosmetic wedge. Dab off excess onto a tissue
Step 4: Dab the black polish onto your nail, using a lighter hand near the cuticles. Leave a band of grey showing
Step 5: Take the black polish and french tip your nails (it doesn't have to be precise). Let dry
Step 6: Take glitter polish and paint over nails.
Step 7: Use clear coat on top.

study break

Lately, I've been finding myself falling asleep twice during my nightly study session- once around 7:30 and another around 10:00pm. This is obviously a hindrance towards getting anything done, and a very lengthy procrastination session usually ensues after one of my impromptu naps. But, I've recently discovered the "cure" to my problems.

Exercise!! I know, it seems absolutely bizarre that I would exert more energy to create .. more energy. But I honestly, and whole heartedly believe in it. Ten minutes on an elliptical, or any exercise machine in your home (or even just jump roping, yoga or jogging in place) will keep your eyes awake for another good two hours. It's like a good shot of caffeine in your bones. So, after discovering this, I convinced my mom to buy one of those stationary bikes, because I like reading while exercising. And, I sit there and burn off about 100 calories in a shot. It's a nice, relaxing break from my studying (hello procrastination).

Christie

HAUL && REVIEW: ELF Hydrotint

I haven't written a blog post in FOREVER! I miss you guys all - i'll start re-advertising my blog again on my youtube channel so everyone can read these things. I'm back, with a review on a product I featured in my October Favorites Video (I'm writing this while I'm uploading it. Youtube says I have 570 more minutes-darn it).

Anyways, I went to target the other day because I needed to buy a few clothing, beauty etc. items for various special performances (i'll tell you guys after the fact, because they are national performances and I don't want people stalking me. haha!) and competitions coming up. I guess I'll haul it up as well- I bought quite a few things.

The first place I went to when I went into target (pronounced tar-geh- emphasis on the geh- when you want to sound fancy) was the beauty section. I had recently run out of my "compared to the Biore recharging wipes" up&up wipes. They retail for just over $6 for a double pack of 30 (so, thats 60 total for those out there who don't feel like calculating that). I thought that was the best deal at target (it is) and bought it. But, the fact of the matter is I didn't read the box clearly enough and it said "gently exfoliates your face". Just to let you know, gentle exfoliation of your eyeballs is not fun. When I use makeup removing wipes I remove all makeup from foundation to eyeliner. I didn't want to have to rub and "exfoliate" my eyelids every single day. So, instead of choosing the pink up&up makeup wipes, I went for the blue ones that were compared to the "Pond's clean sweeps". Honestly, I choose the cheapest ones there, and they were $3. They also had the "compare to neutrogena" wipes, but they were the same price, but for 5 less wipes. So, I picked up two packs of those wipes. I will probably do a review on them later- but I like them so far.

Next up was a whole bunch of makeup- I was going to make a video featuring all of this, but I really didn't feel like filming ANOTHER haul considering i have a HUGE one from forever 21 and CVS that I filmed a few weeks ago going up. I bought four ELF products: a hydro tint in lilac petal, a studio line translucent powder, a studio line golden bronzer and a clear mascara/brow gel. I love most of these products, I will probably do a review sometime soon. After this, I bought Maybelline the Falsies Mascara - but I've yet to try it.

After this, I purchased a pea coat with adorable buttons by Merona which was ~$50. It's actually 70% wool and super warm. I adore this coat, and have been wearing it all week long.

REVIEW: ELF Hydrotint in Lilac Petal

What's my overall opinion?
The color of this product is a shimmering champagne with a silver pearlescent sheen in it. It has no individual glitters in it but rather a silver sheen. The size is pretty small and is in a small squeeze tube bottle. Because it was only $1, I think that the small size is worth it. Of all the $1 line products from ELF, this is probably one of my top 5 (other than the amazing lipglosses!). The ratio of product/quality of product to price is amazing, and I think this product is totally worth it. In terms of the texture of the product, I like the smooth texture but sometimes find the sheen to be a little streaky and chunky. It's staying power is not the best as well and it transfers after a good hour or so. It transfers so much so that you have a streak of glitter on your hand.

Overall, I'd rate this a 8/10.

How do I use this product?
I use these product in a few ways. My favorite way is to highlight my cheekbones after contouring my face with a bronzer. This gives even more definition to your face. Even if you don't contour your face, adding this highlighter will instantly brighten your face and give you a dewy finish. I think that because it is of a cream/thick liquidy texture, it's great for dry skin or powdered skin because it will instantly cling.
You can also mix it with your foundation to add a glowy finish to any matte foundation.
Another way to use this product is as an inner corner and brow bone highlight for the eye area. I like to put a wash all over my lid and concentrate the color on the inner corner and browbones. It gives a nice shimmery base color and is somewhat similar to bare study by MAC.

Whimsical Beaches

One of my favorite things in the world is New England. If I could choose three places to live, this would be in the top three. (1. New England 2. England England 3. The Deep South 4. Where I am now ....) I love the crisp air - it's hard to explain if you've never experienced it before. If you've ever woken up at 5 am, and stepped outside to let your dog out into your yard - you know the feeling. It's such a clean, pure feeling, when the dew is still wet and the sun is just rising. It's that feeling, all day long. Just pure, cleanness - and I love it. The houses are built on the smaller side and usually colonial style, and they all match with each other; just like a little post card. Besides that, the weather is never too hot, so the crisp feeling of fall stays with you all year long. Honestly, I ADORE fall. It is my all time favorite season. Chunky knits and warm colors during a crisp autumn afternoon drinking apple cider is my favorite time of ever. Seriously. I do kind of like spring time, when it's just warm enough and you drive with the windows down, and the cherry blossoms and blowing everywhere. It's nice, but it's nothing compared to autumn. I swear, if i could choose one season, I would choose this one. It lasts nay even a week, but I cherish every second I can. I pity those who don't have an autumn... or a winter.
Anyways, two days ago, I went over to a family friend's house. They just moved to our area (ish, actually like 1 hr away) and they had a house warming party. The man of their house and my father met at my father's first job, and kept in touch since. This guy was born near the ocean, so alwalys bought houses near bodies of water. This particular house was near a huge bay like marsh with boats everywhere, and swans and sand trodden paths. Their house in itself was over 1 acre of land and was very airy and modern. They had a small pool and a large deck in their backyard with bird baths and tons of trees. Right down the street though, was the bay. As I was walking towards it, It reminded me ominously of new England, how the houses were just right, and the wind blowing through my hair. And as I walked down the beach with my boat shoes and braided hair, I thought - this is meant to be.

Wavy Haired - No.

I'm on a roll! I did actually update my youtube with another video - so you can go check that out if you like :) I defintely have a lot of good tutorials planned for everyone out there. Anyways, this is about my hard to curl hair. Seriously, my hair and I have alwalys have an ongoing battle. Whether I want silky waves, or perfect ol' hollywood curls, I usually get Looks like its been fried to a frizz hair, or straight hair by the end of the night. I'm serious. This sucks. Let's start with ex. number one.
Example #1: Wavy haired mess.
Last night I decided I wanted wavy hair today. So, how do you accomplish that? I used the non heat method of braiding my hair while it was still wet and going to sleep in it. I did exactly this...
1. Spray CHI Keratin Mist into my hair so they stay strong and healthy throughout the process.
2. Braid my hair into three even, tight braids.
3. Use Aussie Flexible Hold hairspray all over the braids.
4. Wait overnight (sleep, lala)
5. Wake up and spray Suave Extra Hold Hairspray liberally on braids.
6. Mix Water and L.A. Looks Mega Hold Gel and apply all over braids.
7. Wait about 15 minutes for products to set.
8. Take braids out slowly from the bottom up.
9. Finish with more Aussie Hairspray.
FAIL! This is so much product, I swear if an animal ingested all of this, it'd die. I doubt anyone else uses as much product as I, and the result? It looked like my hair had nice waves at first. But, 10 minutes in, my hair looked fried (like I had spent too many years with a flatiron in my hands), and frizzy. That's SO not the goddess, wavy hair look I was going for.
Update: At the end of the night, my hair was perfectly pin straight again.
Example #2: Perfect Hollywood Curls - Sure.
Here, I indulge the readers in another story of my attempt at having those perfect locks. The first time I tried this, I had Selena Gomez's or Miley Cyrus's perfect curls in mind. Of course, that's never how it ends up. Here was the process...
1. Spray hair with both CHI Keratin Mist and Tresemme Heat Tamer Spray liberally while hair is damp.
2. Blow dry hair upside down.
3. Apply a hydrating milk to the ends of my hair.
4. Take out Conair 1in Curling Iron and Curl in 3 seperate layers. (Sometimes I use my Hana Flat Iron which goes up to 450 degrees...)
5. After each curl, hold the curl in your hand until it cools and pin up into pin curls.
6. After all hair is pinned, shoot curls with a cold blast from Hair Dryer and mist hair liberally with Suave Mega Hold Hairspray.
7. Wait about 15 Minutes for hair to set and spray AGAIN with Aussie Flexible Hold Hairpsray.
8. Take out Pin Curls and brush top of hair out to flatten and neaten.
9. Style to your liking.
This yet again was a FAIL!! I'd post up picture of both... but that seems not to be working out, so here are some pictures of... bubbles.

Wow!

Wow! Long time no post :) I feel like so much time has passed by, its really pretty amazing! Summer has really zoomed by, I can't believe it's actually August. I do have a legit excuse to be lacking on this blog and even a little on my youtube - I"M SO BUSY! I know people actually alwalys use that as their excuse but, with going to dance camp every day, SAT prepping, Colorguard Camp, and Science Research, I have no time for dilly dallying. So, what should I write in this post? Not much has changed from school... I've met nooo new people, in fact, I've met 0 people. I literally look at neuron cells all day long, and jump and down with glee. Joking.

I have bought a LOT of new makeup, even though I'm doing project ten pan. But I think I've decided to officially abort mission. ABORT ABORT!! Well, sort of, I've only finished 2 products so far, but some products are dwindling down, a little bit.

I think I have a problem, when I know that I'll never see someone after a few weeks or days again, I dont' allow myself to get close to them, just friendly. I think it's a trust problem. That stinks for me. I think I'm really rambling, because there's nothing to talk of -sometimes I get bored of trying to be pretty and talk of makeup, and fashion. What is the po int really? Honestly, You dont even know what I'm wearing. Around people, I feel guady and clown like woth a full face of makeup and giant bangles.

the hardest thing to find

do you know what the hardest thing for a teen to find is? besides the perfect black dress and go with anything flats. A few things, the perfect pair of heels and the perfect pair of wedges. Most that are going through the stores we shop at are sky high - almost impossible to walk or stand in and are simply inappropriate for everyday wear. Well, at least for me (I'm not in college yet!). Here's an easy way to ease into wearing heels/wedges, and for those "classy" girls out there - here's your guide to wedges and heels, none past 3 inches in height.

Here it goes ladies... (and gents) - we're going from priciest, to least.

Gone Fishing

I went fishing for the first time... ever. Now, I do live near a few bodies of water, so this fact is pretty much a big surprise for everyone who lives where I do. Summer days are filled with lazy days at the beach, eating crab patty burgers at the local shack, surfing etc. Think california loving, but not quite (i don't live anywhere near cali). So, obviously, it's pretty surprising that i've never been fishing before. i went fishing, expecting nothing much -boring laziness and perhaps a tan. But!, what did happen was i caught a 30 lb striper bass :) yes! i know, if you're into fishing at all, that's a pretty decent fish. Especially for ones first fish...ever. From that I also recieved a good amount of cash from the pool (becuase i ended up catching the biggest fish on the boat).

Now, you guys are probably curious as to what makeup i wore fishing. (isn't that what we're alwalys curious of?) I decided to go natural and wear my Almay Natural Makeup Foundation (more like a tinted moisturizer, goes on really light and smooth) and topped off my oily spots with a little bit of the Everyday Minerals Pressed Powder and used the Swirled Cosmetics Kabuki brush. After, I applied the Gold Aura Accenting Cream Shadow from Maybelline into my waterline and lower lash line and a little bit of the Prestige black Kohl liner in my inner waterline. The result? Intensely glowy, sparkling eyes that made my brown eyes pop in all the winners photos!

isn't it funny, how something so beloved before can dissapear? and when you go to check back upon it, it feels almost as if things were exactly the same? Yet, when you look around - you find yourself friendless, alone and things completely deserted, nothing like they were before.

treasure the time you have with something - because i can guarantee you, it will surely end.

a new post, a new fancy, life, and changes

oh my, i've turned into one of those girls - an obssesed makeup guru who neglects her blog. but, i do come back happy to find new followers - so i'd like to say thank so much for taking the time for following my blog and reading it :) Also, if any of you are subscribers on youtube (which I supposed many of you are), thank you so so so much for ALMOST 1000 subscribers. You guys are all the best! A new "era" of summer is so close that it's really palpable. I can almost touch it- yet I'm one final (and on more tuesday) away from this. That's how close it is. I'm so close - I can let go of school, drama, stress and headaches and embrace a summer of fun.

so they say...

But, in reality it's quite the opposite of your ideal carefree summer. The summer before your junior year of highschool. Kids, you know what that means... SAT PREP. Yes, hours and hours devoted to mindless questions about the structure of sentences and triginometry of triangles. Not on that, I'm going to a dance summer intensive and researching in a science lab. Just when I can gasp for a moment of freedom, I'm strapped back down again. It's such a yearly thing, it just never stops...ever. So, I decided that since "i'll have more time in the summer" I'm going to document my daily trips to manhatthan. My trips to Florida, Upstate new york and the such. I'm sure you guys are interested in where I go, what I do, what I'm wearing, and what new makeup look I concoted for the day. Pictures galore honeys. I doubt that there are going to be daily posts (do you know how long those pictures take to upload?!? eonnsss!), but i'm hoping for 3 times a week with photo laden posts. Also, there will hopefully be a boost in the frequency of videos (but that's doubtful hahah).

Anyways, moving on to the meat of the post, I'd like to ask you guys a question to think about. Why do you like your favorite guru(s) on youtube? Or your favorite bloggers? Is it because of their amazing personality? Or is it because of their stunning talent? I personally believe that the viewers should love a guru because of her stellar talent, not only because of her personality. I think having a fun personality could add to the fact that you're amazing. It should be like a bonus - not the whole test. Just something for the readers to ponder about, I've defintely done a lot of thinking about it.

About my life now, well it's hellish for sure. It's "finals week" but I haven't another final until next tuesday. I did watch karate kid! it was so cute :) jackie chan + cute 12 year old kid = adorable. It was one of those slightly scary/very cheesy disney movies - but it was cute all the same. It kind of made me feel like I could do anything I set my mind to ... for a second. If only that were the truth.

Project 10 Pan Round 1 - Update

I've yet to post my video on project 10 pan onto youtube, oops. but you guys do know it has started :) here is a little update on it, it's not complete with pictures (i'm getting lazy) but, i think a thorough description will do - I've also amped this up to a legit project 10 pan - I know... shocking.

1. Maybelline Chai Latte Quad - Browbone Color
I'VE HIT PAN!! woohoo, I believe it was last thursday or friday that I saw that glorious spark of tin hit my eyes. Yes! the joy. My goal was to hit pan on the eyeshadow, but now I really just want to finish it up - so this eyeshadow has a decent sized hole in it, but is still going strong!

2. C.O. Bigelows Peppermint Gloss
I originally wanted to finish a Revlon Shiny Sheers, then a VS Shinestick, but ended up settling for this 2 year old tingly gloss. It gives a cooling effect - which is perfect for summertime and the clear shade is versatile over any lipstick, or alone. I'm probably less than 1/2 way through (I just subbed it in recently)

3. Rimmel Lipstick in Airy Fairy
When I first got the lipstick, I made a scratch off point to where the 1/2 way mark was (so I knew how much was left). I'm a good 3-4 cm off of the mark, I've still a way to go - but the lipstick is slowly diminishing (Thank goodness!). I have very mixed feelings towards it, sometimes it's gorgeous - yet sometimes I look like an ashen zombie.

4. Elf Hypershine Gloss in Joy
FINISHED

5. Smith's Rosebud Salve
This remains untouched, I've been prefering my Vaseline... I better get cracking...

6. Maybelline lash stilleto mascara
Darn, I haven't touched this either - I HATE MASCARA.

7. Everyday Minerals Powder
I used this... once this month.

8. Almay Naturals Foundation
I used this thrice this month, that's not so bad - right? I use this as undereye concealer often

9. Clniique Bronzer in Sunkissed
I use this everyday, but a dent hasn't even been made - it's a bad sign.

10. Revlon Cream Illuminance Quad in Precious Metals - Gold Color
I've used this relatively often, it's dimming down :)

I CHEATED. sorry, i had to buy the MAC to the beach stuff - no exceptions.

Bronzer Comparisons

Of the few bronzers I've tried, the following are the ones I own. In this post I'm going to give an exclusive (from my youtube videos) indepth review on them and how they compare to each other. Expect a grade (A+ - F) for each product. So are you wondering which bronzer you should buy this summer? Find out below!

Priced at $2.99 (found at your local drugstore) this bronzer is defintely the best bang for its buck. The packaging could be better and the included "puff" is useless unless you want to cake your bronzer on. I suggest using all bronzers, but this one especially with a large paddle powder brush or a stippler brush. This is an extremely pigmented, and matte bronzer that is perfect for contouring. I prefer to use a slightly shimmery bronzer on my cheekbones or all over my face to give an actual glow. This is useful for contouring, but I barely use this.

Value: 9/10

Quality: 7/10

Packaging: 2/10

Overall: B

Sephora Sundisk - $20
This product is HUGE. But, like the NYC bronzer, it only has one color to choose from. But, this color can never look muddy with a peachy/coppery glow. It has a very slight shimmer or sheen in it but is probably considered matte. I love this bronzer to give my face a nice glow (the 3B method) with a large paddle brush. I never contour with this and use this basically for an all over glow. Although I like this, some downfalls are that the powder isn't packed loosely enough so it can get messy, the compact is HUGE and bulky and that it has a weird perfume-y smell.

Quality: 8/10
Value: 7/10
Packaging: 6/10

OVERALL: B+

Cargo Blu Ray Bronzer - $30 (bought @ $15 @ Sephora)

This bronzer is never muddy and has a mostly matte finish. It has a slight orange tinge which can make you glow slightly orange in pictures and on stage. So never use this as stage makeup! I do like the consistency and the quality is good. The power is packed well into the pan and the packaging is sturdy. I love the huge mirror and how the hinge goes past 180 degrees so you can get into the bronzer without getting the powder on the mirror. I like to use a stippler brush with this just because I find it breaks up this powder the best.

Value: 4/10
Quality: 8/10
Packaging: 8/10

OVERALL: B+

Clinique True Bronzer in Sunkissed

- a pinky toned bronzer with golden sparkles

Quality: 8/10

Project 10(?) Pan - Round 1

YES! I am making the risque journey into the woods - I am venturing into the world of fire that every makeup addict cringes when she/he thinks of - PROJECT 10 PAN. If you, my reader, don't know what this is, it is basically taking 10 products and hitting the "pan" of the product or completely using it up. It depends on the product and your variation. Many people go to the "extreme" and want to finish all ten products - including eyeshadows and powders. Isn't that crazy? I could never - so in my version, I'm hitting pan for the powders and finishing other products. This project discludes makeup remover, nail polish, - basically anything that isn't technically makuep. I roatate my makeup (mascaras, eyeshaodws, foundations, powders) pretty much daily, so i'm nowhere near finishing most of my makeup. Therefore, I'm going to have to speed this up - becuase if you really think about it - this would be impossibel for me.

My Variation: Instead of using 10 products, I'm going to be using 3. Yes, I know - that's a tiny number, but i'm going to start off slowly for my first round of this project. No use in going crazy - eh? I'm going to update you guys every 2 weeks on my progress and hopefully I'll be able to speed thorugh this by mid-way through the summer break.
My Products:
Maybelline Chai Latte Eyeshadow Quad: I've already used up one full shadow from this quad- the "crease" color which was a shimmer golden brown color whcih added some shine to any part of your eye. My next goal is to finish the "browbone" color which can easily be used as an all over lid color everyday. It's a sheer, sparkly, and shimmery cream color shadow with decent pigmentation. (My next attack for Project 5 Pan will be the matte "lid" color)

Smith's Rosebud Salve: This can be bought as sephora, and I'm about 1/2 way through - just a little more to go! :) This is basically scented vaseline and is easily applied throughout the day anywhere on your body.

Maybelline Lash Stilletto Mascara: I know mascara is supposedly the easiest to get through, but I doubt that will be the case for me. I use mascara sparingly - because I like my lashes to stay healthy and strong. Although I've had this for a while - I doubt i'm even 1/16th through the bottle.

on beauty.

Beauty. The saying “beauty is in the eye of the beholder” is a true depiction of beauty. Your perception of beautiful will be beautiful. If you believe you are beautiful, you will truly transform into a beautiful person – inside and out. Beauty may be that which seduces you, that which is promiscuous. Yet true beauty is neither of these things. True beauty is emulated from within; it is not something shallow or superficial. The true definition of beauty is not clearly defined. I feel beauty. Beauty radiates from the beautiful. It is those who do the right thing, help out those who cannot help themselves. Those who are beacons of light in this cruel world of hardship. Yet, someone can fake these feelings, pretend – and fool some people. Remember that most see through you, you may believe you are opaque, but in reality, you are transparent. If you are not beautiful, even the slightest hint, at least don’t try to hide reality. You are ugly, hideous and mean. That is you – accept you. Once you accept you- perhaps you can change into someone truly beautiful.

on makeup:
“When I wake up in the morning, I’m not afraid to hide my face – I simply feel pure and clean, like when I have a freshly scrubbed face.”
